Date Hazelnut Muffins

Date Muffins

This recipe yields ~12 muffins


  • 1 cup milk
  • 2/3 cup Date Syrup
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour (300 g)
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts
  • 1 cup pitted & chopped Khalas Dates (~20 dates)
  • 6 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted & cooled



  1. Preheat the oven at 375F. and add muffin liners to a muffin tin
  2. Mix together the milk, date syrup, egg, and vanilla in a bowl
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet until fully incorporated
  5. Fold in the hazelnuts and dates before adding the melted, cooled butter to the muffin batter. Stir until well mixed
  6. Bake for 20 minutes or until a toothpick through the center of the muffin comes out clean
