Honouring tradition, and hoping for a little miracle.
Ingredients:
- 4 apples (multi color)
- ⅓ cup gluten-free or regular 1:1 flour
- 1 egg
- 3-4 tbsp D'vash Date Sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- ½ tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
- Avocado oil
Optional:
- Dvash Date Syrup
- Whipped Coconut Cream
Instructions:
- Peel and grate your apples.
- Squeeze out any excess moisture from the apples. (Make sure to save and drink the juice - it’s natural perfection)
- To make the batter, combine the apples, flour, eggs, sugar, spices, baking powder, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Heat your oil in a skillet on medium heat.
- Take spoonfuls of the apple mixture and drop them carefully into the oil. Press them down to form a pancake shape.
- Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown.
- Once done, place on a paper towel-lined plate so that they can absorb any excess oil.
- Once ready to serve, drizzle with date syrup and/or top with coconut whipped cream and cinnamon.
Store any leftover in the fridge up to 4 days.
Chag Sameach.
