Apple Pie Latkes

D'vash Latkes with date sugar for hanukkah

Celebrate light and love with us this year and make these Apple Pie Latkes! Elevate your celebrations and try this twist on the traditional potato-latke.

Honouring tradition, and hoping for a little miracle.

Ingredients:

  • 4 apples (multi color)
  • ⅓ cup gluten-free or regular 1:1 flour
  • 1 egg
  • 3-4 tbsp D'vash Date Sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Avocado oil

Optional:

  • Dvash Date Syrup
  • Whipped Coconut Cream

Instructions:

  1. Peel and grate your apples.
  2. Squeeze out any excess moisture from the apples. (Make sure to save and drink the juice - it’s natural perfection)
  3. To make the batter, combine the apples, flour, eggs, sugar, spices, baking powder, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  4. Heat your oil in a skillet on medium heat.
  5. Take spoonfuls of the apple mixture and drop them carefully into the oil. Press them down to form a pancake shape.
  6. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they are golden brown.
  7. Once done, place on a paper towel-lined plate so that they can absorb any excess oil.
  8. Once ready to serve, drizzle with date syrup and/or top with coconut whipped cream and cinnamon.

Store any leftover in the fridge up to 4 days.

Chag Sameach.
